Ultrasound Services
Ultrasound care is one of the most important services we provide, and we treat it that way — with skill, precision, physician oversight, and close attention to every detail.
This is not a basic confirmation scan. Our imaging services are designed to give you a clearer medical understanding of your pregnancy, including:
- Where the pregnancy is located
- How far along you are
- Whether a heartbeat is present
- Whether the pregnancy appears to be developing normally
- Signs that may suggest miscarriage or pregnancy loss
- Fetal anatomy (when appropriate based on gestational age)
- Placental position and amniotic fluid levels
- The number of babies present (such as twins or multiples)
- Findings that may require additional medical follow-up or referral
Finding a possible miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy early is important because medical care may be needed to protect your health. A medical-grade ultrasound can help show whether the pregnancy is developing as expected, whether your body may be passing the pregnancy naturally, or whether more medical care may be needed.
For women considering abortion, an obstetric ultrasound may also reveal that the pregnancy is not viable — meaning it is not developing as expected and may end naturally on its own. In these situations, this information may help a woman avoid an unnecessary procedure, along with the possible physical risks, emotional impact, and financial cost involved.
Ectopic Pregnancy A pregnancy that develops outside the uterus, most often in a fallopian tube. Because it cannot continue normally and may cause serious health complications, prompt medical care is important.
Why a Comprehensive Ultrasound Matters
A comprehensive ultrasound does more than confirm a pregnancy. It plays an important role in protecting both your health and your baby’s health by providing accurate, physician-reviewed medical information about how the pregnancy is progressing.
This careful evaluation helps ensure you are not left uncertain. It provides clear answers, supports your well-being, and gives you the understanding you need to move forward with reassurance.
At Circle of Hope, this level of ultrasound evaluation can provide meaningful insight into your pregnancy, including:
- Identifying Early Pregnancy Loss
- Why Pregnancy Location Matters
- Determining How Far Along You Are
Identifying Early Pregnancy Loss
Miscarriage is more common than many people realize, especially in early pregnancy. When there are concerns about pregnancy development, an ultrasound can provide important medical information and help determine whether follow-up care may be needed.
An ultrasound may show that a pregnancy is not viable — meaning it is not developing as expected and may end naturally. In some cases, the body may resolve the pregnancy on its own; in other cases, medical follow-up may be needed.
Having this information before making an abortion decision can help a woman better understand what is happening in her body and avoid unnecessary procedures.
Why Pregnancy Location Matters:
An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus, most often in a fallopian tube.
Because an ectopic pregnancy can pose serious health risks, it is important to confirm that the pregnancy is located safely within the uterus.
If a pregnancy is not seen in the uterus, additional evaluation may be recommended to help protect your safety and guide you toward appropriate medical care.
Determining How Far Along You Are
Gestational age measures pregnancy in weeks, beginning from the first day of your last menstrual period. Knowing how far along you are helps guide medical care and ensures that any decisions or next steps are based on clear, reliable information.
In early pregnancy, ultrasound is one of the most accurate ways to estimate gestational age, giving you information you can trust as you consider what comes next.
Confirming Twins or Multiples
An ultrasound can determine whether you are carrying more than one baby. Identifying twins or multiples early is important because these pregnancies may require closer monitoring and specialized prenatal care.
Knowing this information early helps ensure you and your babies receive the appropriate medical guidance, care, and support throughout pregnancy.
Your Ultrasound Results AND Next Steps
Your care does not end when the ultrasound is complete. We take time to ensure every study is carefully reviewed, clearly explained, and medically reliable.
Each ultrasound is independently reviewed by three board-certified physicians, and a comprehensive diagnostic report is prepared to provide accurate, detailed medical information.
Once your results are available, our supervising physician will review them with you personally, so you are not left with uncertainty or unanswered questions.
You will have unhurried time to ask questions, talk through the findings, and fully understand what the results may mean for you.
You will also receive a copy of your ultrasound report for your records or to share with another healthcare provider, if you choose.
