Pregnancy Confirmation

More Than a Pregnancy Test: Medical Oversight, Answers & Support

Whether your home pregnancy test was positive, negative, or unclear, we are here to provide reliable pregnancy confirmation with attentive, individualized care.

At your visit, you’ll be offered an onsite rapid urine pregnancy test for immediate results, followed by a laboratory urine hCG test, typically available within 24–48 hours. Your results are carefully reviewed, and when additional information would be medically helpful, our physician may recommend quantitative hCG bloodwork. This measures the amount of hCG in your blood and can provide valuable additional information when further evaluation is needed.

You’ll receive clear answers and plenty of time to ask questions or talk about any concerns you may have. Your visit is never rushed, and the care you receive is centered on you and what you need.

Whatever your results show, you can expect honesty, compassion, and thoughtful support from people who genuinely care.

Medical-Grade Pregnancy Testing The testing we provide consists of PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), a highly sensitive method used in advanced medical diagnostics.

Quantitative HCG Bloodwork A laboratory blood test that measures the exact hormone level, providing more precise information about early pregnancy progression and viability.

Your Pregnancy Test Is Positive—What Happens Next?

If your pregnancy test is positive, additional medical services may be offered to help confirm your results, assess pregnancy development, and give you clearer information about your next steps.

As part of your care, you may receive:

  • Medical-grade ultrasound, independently reviewed by three board-certified physicians
  • Quantitative hCG bloodwork to help better understand how your pregnancy may be progressing
  • Comprehensive STI/STD testing, with discrete treatment provided at no cost if needed
  • Women’s wellness laboratory testing tailored to your individual health needs, when medically appropriate

Medical Grade Ultrasound A diagnostic ultrasound using advanced clinical imaging technology to assess pregnancy location and development with greater precision than basic scans.

Quantitative hCG Blood Testing A blood test that measures the exact amount of hCG (pregnancy hormone) in your blood. When medically appropriate, it may be repeated over time to provide additional information about how your pregnancy may be progressing.

Comprehensive STI/STD Testing Testing goes beyond the most commonly screened STIs, with comprehensive options covering the full range of infections that can be appropriately tested for based on your symptoms, concerns, and potential exposures

Women's Wellness Labs Laboratory testing tailored to your individual health needs, symptoms, and medical history—helping identify potential concerns and provide a clearer picture of your overall health.

STI vs. STD — What’s the Difference?
  • STI means an infection is present, with or without symptoms
  • STD refers to an infection that has caused symptoms or health problems

Testing looks for infections early — even before symptoms appear — which is especially important during pregnancy.

Questions You May Be Asking

How soon can I find out if I’m pregnant?

It can be hard to wait when you are looking for an answer. Pregnancy tests detect human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), a hormone that begins to rise after implantation. If you test very early, there may not yet be enough hCG to detect, which means a negative result does not always rule out pregnancy.

For the most reliable result, a urine pregnancy test is generally best on or after the first day of your missed period. Some tests may detect pregnancy sooner, but the earlier you test, the greater the chance of a false-negative result.

If your test is negative but your period still has not started—or something still makes you think you may be pregnant—it is reasonable to test again or seek additional medical evaluation.

If you are unsure about timing, Circle of Hope can help you determine the best next step and provide clinical pregnancy testing at no cost. You do not have to sort through the uncertainty alone.

I already took a home pregnancy test. Why should I have another one?

Home pregnancy tests are generally accurate when used correctly, but a medical-grade pregnancy test can help confirm your result and provide a clear starting point for any additional evaluation that may be appropriate.

Depending on your situation, your next steps may include blood work, an ultrasound, or additional medical follow-up. We’ll explain what may be helpful and answer your questions along the way.

What if my pregnancy test is negative, but I still think I might be pregnant?

A negative result does not always rule out pregnancy. If you test too early, there may not yet be enough pregnancy hormone, called hCG, for the test to detect.

If your period does not begin, your symptoms continue, or you still feel that you may be pregnant, please reach out. Repeat testing or additional evaluation may be recommended, and we can help you determine the best time to test again.

Can medications or medical conditions affect a pregnancy test result?

Most medications and common medical conditions do not affect pregnancy test results. Pregnancy tests detect human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). Most antibiotics, birth control pills, and common over-the-counter medications will not cause a positive result.

Important exceptions include certain fertility medications that contain hCG. A recent pregnancy, miscarriage, abortion, or delivery can also leave hCG in the body for a period of time and cause a positive test. Rare medical conditions may also affect hCG levels.

False-negative results are more common than false positives, especially when testing very early or with diluted urine.

If your result is unexpected or unclear, please reach out to us at Circle of Hope. We can review your situation, provide clinical pregnancy testing, and help determine whether repeat testing, bloodwork, ultrasound, or additional medical evaluation may be appropriate.
